I love wildlife photography and when photographing wildlife I always try to show the animal how a portrait painter would portray a regal, their magnificent presence in someway.

Today you can’t look at a photo without thinking it might be AI, and this kind of breaks my heart for the people who spend their time taking real photos. These photos are real but I do think you should question what you see online today.

Let me hear your thoughts?

These stylised, almost abstract, loose and colorful landscapes are some of my most comforting things to draw. They just feel so fun and _right_ for me. Idk what it is! Especially right now!! Also some of these are like 5-6 year old drawings, and have been floating around online for quite a while at this point haha!! Do you have a favourite out of these? I for sure have one 👀

Art Threads

22h

I just wish @threads would let me follow more people because I want to follow absolutely every artist on here. Art is my dopamine factory. My art. Someone else's art. Ancient art. All of it. I love seeing what other people create and how they do it.

...and I could really use some more dopamine these days, you know?

I can make any type of eye into jewelry but lately it’s been the cat parents keeping me in business ^~,~^ 🖤🐾

I’ll be posting slots today for my hand-painted custom eye jewelry !

The illustration should look quick, light and charming, as if drawn by hand with a thin pen and a few loose watercolor washes. Use FEW lines, FEW details and LARGE areas of untouched white paper. CHARACTERS: Turn all people and animals into very simple naive storybook characters. Keep them recognizable only through their most important visual features: hairstyle / fur color and markings silhouette clothing accessories pose characteristic objects Do not reproduce realistic anatomy. FACE:

Make human faces extremely minimal: two tiny black dot eyes tiny simple nose or no nose one thin curved smile two loose pink watercolor circles for cheeks no eyelashes no detailed lips no realistic facial shading ANIMALS: Draw animals with the SAME extreme simplicity. Use: simple head and body shapes tiny dot eyes tiny graphic nose simplified ears and tail flat watercolor patches for major coat markings only a few loose strokes suggesting fur

NO realistic fur, individual hairs, detailed eyes or anatomical rendering. HAIR: Use loose, messy, overlapping thin lines. A few flowing scribbled strokes are enough. Do not carefully render individual strands. OBJECTS: Reduce objects to their simplest recognizable shapes. A bag can be a simple outlined shape. Clothing patterns can be a handful of irregular marks. Food can be represented by basic watercolor forms. FLOWERS — EXTREMELY SIMPLE: Never paint botanical or realistic flowers.

Represent flowers only as: tiny colored dots simple 4–6 stroke flower shapes small irregular watercolor blobs thin loose stems occasional simple leaves A bouquet should read as a playful cluster of colored marks, NOT as individually rendered flowers. Do not draw petals, flower anatomy, detailed leaves or realistic bouquets. BACKGROUND — EXTREMELY SPARSE: Reduce the original environment to only a few visual hints. For example: buildings = pale irregular rectangles windows = tiny colored strokes

shutters = several parallel lines doors = simple rectangles trees = loose green marks flowers = tiny colored dots pavement = a few scattered gray-beige shapes Do NOT fully fill or render the background. Elements may appear isolated and unfinished rather than connected into a realistic scene. Leave approximately 50–70% of the background as visible white/off-white watercolor paper. LINEWORK: Use thin, slightly shaky, imperfect black, gray and brown pen lines.

Lines should feel spontaneous and casually hand drawn. Some contours may remain open or unfinished. COLOR: Use small amounts of transparent watercolor. Keep most of the image white. Apply color selectively in soft, imperfect patches rather than filling every shape completely. Use the characteristic colors from the original photo, but keep them muted and airy. Allow watercolor to bleed slightly outside the ink lines. DETAIL LEVEL — CRITICAL:

The final illustration must be noticeably LESS detailed than the photograph. When deciding whether to draw a detail, OMIT IT unless it is necessary to recognize the subject or scene. Prefer: one loose mark instead of several lines, a colored blob instead of a detailed object, a suggestion instead of a description. OVERALL LOOK: naive minimal airy cute handmade slightly imperfect whimsical simple watercolor sketch children's picture-book charm lots of white paper NOT: detailed watercolor painting
